Network Providers

Receiving care from network providers really does save money for you and the Company.

Most employees are unaware of the true costs of hospital services. Here are some interesting facts:

For an appendectomy, including 2 days in the hospital, surgery and other charges, the average bill comes to $6,248 when care is received by a network hospital and physician. If you are covered by the United HealthCare PPO Plan, you would pay the annual $250 deductible and 20% co-insurance of $1,199.60, for a total of $1,449.60. Ryder would pay the balance - $4,798.40.

For the same services, received by a non-network hospital and physician, the average bill comes to $13,036.00. You would pay the annual $500 non-network deductible and 40% co-insurance to the annual out-of-pocket maximum of $5,000, in addition to any expense that exceeds the reasonable and customary charge for the same service in your area. Ryder would pay the balance - $8,037.
